Can't Sleep? Maybe You Have Sexual Problem.

Do you know that sleeping problem(obstructive sleep apnea, in particular) and the difficulty to have an erection is closely connected? I don't believe it until I read a recent study made by Mount Sinai Medical Center. Obstructive sleep apnea affects over 18 million Americans (that's one in every fifteen people). According to some studies, men are the usual victim of this condition-men who are overweight and in their middle age. People who have obstructive sleep apnea they have difficulty in breathing-their airways become blocked or they collapse during sleep. With this, these people can experience pauses in their breathing. The pauses are known to last for several seconds and they happen 30 times each passing hour.

Obstructive sleep apnea causes these people to transit from their deep sleep to a light lumber-this leaves them tired and exhausted in the morning. However, after a series of scrupulous studies, experts found out that sleeplessness is not the only problem of these people. Most of them also suffer from erectile dysfunction. How are these two conditions related?

Actually, there are no clear explanations on the how. What's clear is the result of the study made by Mount Sinai Medical Center to 870 middle-aged men who have obstructive sleep apnea. They found out that men with erectile dysfunction are more than twice as likely to have the said sleep disorder condition.

Another study was facilitated over 62 men with obstructive sleep apnea. When asked about their sexual function problem, it turned out that 64.4 percent of them had erectile dysfunction. On why and how the two are related, there are still no clear answers. Scientists from around the globe are still figuring these out at this very moment.
