Does Lipozene Work?

Lipozene is a weight loss product form a company called Obesity Research Institute LLC. It is being advertised as an "as seen on TV" product. There are countless weight loss products available today so is this product really worth considering? The main question is if this product is really effective or "does Lipozene work?" Let's try to answer this question.

The Details
Lipozene only has one active ingredient which is glucomannan. This is an unabsorbable polysaccharide which is derived from the konjac root. There are some clinical studies indicating glucomannan's benefits like lowering blood sugar, blood lipid and LDL cholesterol levels. A study also showed that 1 gram of glucomannan take with at least 8 oz. of water one hour before meals can aid in weight loss. One particular study showed an average of 6 pounds weight loss in a two month period.

Does Lipozene Work?
Glucomannan appears very promising when it comes to weight loss. However, it is basically a fiber supplement and not really a weight loss supplement. Basically, it works by filling you up quickly and keeping you full for a longer time so in a way, Lipozene can help with weight loss. The problem is that you can have the same results when you just meet the daily recommended fiber intake which is 25 grams per day. You can also have the same results from taking any other fiber supplement like those made with psyllium husks.

The Problems with Lipozene
Lipozene is an "as seen on TV" product which is not a good sign since these products are usually scams. Also, Obesity Research Institute LLC, the company behind Lipozene has a huge credibility problem. A few years back, they were charged by the Federal Trade Commission for false and unsubstantiated claims on other weight loss products they were selling. The said products' main ingredient is also glucomannan. Obviously, this doesn't bode well for their newest offering.

Should You Buy Lipozene?
Okay so there is good reason to believe Lipozene works since clinical studies indicate that glucomannan can really aid in weight loss. However, there are many other comparable products that are being sold at a fraction of the price of Lipozene. Generic brands and those from reputable companies are priced much lower than this offering from Obesity Research Institute LLC.

The Bottom Line
The answer to the question "does Lipozene work?" is yes. However, if the question is "should you buy Lipozene" then the answer is obviously no. It is just a glorified glucomannan supplement that is very much overpriced. There are also many billing complaints regarding this product. My advice is to purchase generic glucomannan or other fiber supplements. You can also try natural weight loss pills that can help with your weight loss safely.
