Holiday Travel Skin Tips

If you're planning to go on a ski trip this holiday season, you need to give importance to your skin. Most people think that the sun during winter is not as harmful compared to summertime. This is a big mistake since the ultraviolet rays of the sun are just the same and skin damage can still occur if the skin is unprotected. This is why you still need to put on the appropriate sunscreen about 15 minutes before going outdoors. The reason for this is because takes time for the skin to absorb sunscreen and protect the skin. Remember to use at least an SPF 30 depending on how long you will be exposed to the sun. Put the sunscreen in your ski gear bag since you may need to reapply later.

To prevent skin drying, you need to use a moisturizer daily. Some moisturizers already have sunscreen in it. Don't forget to protect your nose from sunburn with some zinc oxide. Also, you need to wear sunglasses or goggles to protect your eyes and the skin that surrounds it. Remember that ultraviolet rays are more powerful at higher altitude so it is a good idea to wear a mask or bandana to protect your face. When you're not wearing a helmet, you should wear a big hat to protect your face. Last but not least, avoiding dehydration by drinking lots of water can go a long way when it comes to the health of your skin.
